Best friends

Our upstairs neighbors have a little girl named Vivian who is a few months older than Emilia. They are BEST friends. They have a hard time spending any time at home without each other. I just wanted to document their friendship.

A sample of Mira's crawling prowess

For some reason, I keep being amazed at how mobile this child is at barely 6 months old. She loves being able to move around, though!

Sorry, I didn't realize until I watched it on the blog that I filmed it sideways. I've got to remember that the videos do not auto-adjust to the right direction.

some videos

This is Mira discovering her tongue. I found it quite humorous. She did this for about 35 minutes straight.
This is Emilia singing a song from the Barbie movie Diamond Castle.  If you've ever watched the movie, she does a pretty spot-on job.  My little songstress! :)
This would make Aunt Cindy proud.

For those of you who are google challenged ;)

I have created an account for family members to use to view videos on my blog.  Here is what you do:

it should bring you right to the blog.  Tell me if it works for you by emailing or leaving a comment.  Thanks!

Paul's visit

My cousin Paul came to visit us this last weekend on his way from Oregon to Arizona. We were happy to see him. Thanks for visiting, Paul! Me and Steve and the girls, Ben and Haylee and Dylan, and Paul all went on a hike to Stuart Falls. It was definitely interesting with all the little kids, but it was a beautiful weekend with almost perfect weather for hiking. I'm really glad Paul was willing to put up with us and we were all able to go.

Steve and Mira right after we made it to the falls.
All of us in front of the lowest part of the falls.
My phone camera couldn't capture the scenery the way I would have liked, but here is the best it could do with the entire cascade.
Us Richaus and Frohlichs always have a good time together.

The Circus

On the 23rd of September, all of us went to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Energy Solutions Arena.  Megan and her kids and Alison went, too.

 Emilia admiring the elephants.
One of the weirder improvements at the Circus from when I was little, was the singing ringmaster.  This is what everyone else was doing while he sang, which was cool, but it was even cooler when...
they turned the lights out and everyone glowed in the dark.
One of Steve's favorite parts was the high-wire act:
We didn't stay for the whole thing.  Apparently, we missed the elephants and the guy being shot out of the cannon.  Both girls had had it by about the hour and a half mark.  And it was LOUD.  I had a headache from it by the time we left.  The other ridiculous part was the price of the souvenirs.  See those things behind us in the picture? At least $20 each.  Yes, that's more than we paid for our tickets.

Emilia being brave and the laundry mountain

These are just a few random pictures from the last couple weeks.

Emilia is generally afraid of things that could potentially harm her.  Fairly logical, right? Except she sees slides, swings, and just about anything that flies as something that could potentially harm her.  This philosophy, I suppose has given me few near-heart-attacks compared to what her sister will put me through, as she currently likes to try to dive head-first out of her high chair after a toy that she's dropped and other such actually dangerous stuff.

The other day, though, we went to the park together, and Emilia saw some little kids going across a ladder-type-thing on it's side.  They made it look so easy (and they were littler than her) that she decided to give it a try.  She loved it and did it at least thirty more times as pictured below. :)
I don't think you can actually see it in this picture, but they were both lying on their backs playing with necklaces.  I thought it was cute.
I have often wondered lately how 4 people can make this much laundry in one week.  We manage to do it every week, though. And somehow I manage to fold it.
Okay, that's all the randomness.  More non-randomness to come soon.  Hopefully.
