On Monday morning, we woke up to a snowstorm. Steve tried to go to work, but there were so many accidents he didn't make it past Provo (the next town north). He worked from home that day. Here is the view from our front window:
The retaining wall we have in our back yard is always the perfect place to see how much snow has come down. This was around 10am. I didn't take any more pictures, but we got a few more inches after this.
It stopped snowing around 3pm. The sunset was beautiful. The girls wanted to go out that evening, so we jumped around in the snow for a while. I managed to get some down the back of my coat. Ack! I also ended up shoveling for a good hour and I didn't even get our driveway done--just the sidewalks and the snow from the end of the driveway to where they plowed the street. It was a good foot deep, so there is no way our little Saturn would have made it through that if we hadn't shoveled it.
Tuesday, the kids and I drove up to my parents' house to play and visit. It was a really nice, relaxing day.

Mira looking at a shark that was bigger than her. It may have been a lemon shark, since it was yellow. |
For the $55 we paid, I'm not sure I would recommend going to this aquarium (if you live around here). It was fun to see once, but it wasn't anything to rave about. The aquarium we went to in AZ was much more fun.
Friday, I got to go to my friend Leah's house for dinner. Of course, the whole family went and our kids had a good time playing.
Yesterday, the Nelsons came down from Layton and everybody except me and Cecily went sledding. I'm told I missed out on a great time. Cecily had the fever that my kids have been passing to each other, plus it was her nap time. And I got to do some writing/revising, so I was happy. Then we all went out to dinner and Steve and I went on a date while the kids slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
All in all, it was a good week with lots of stuff to do. Emilia goes back to school tomorrow and I am sad. I like having her home. Hopefully it will mean we can have a boring week and get back into the routine again, though. That would be good.
